India Lost last WC qualification match Turkmenistan

India lost final game of their World Cup qualifying campaign at Kochi on Tuesday evening. This was a heartbreaking defeat to home side with key players was sidelined with injury.  India made three changes to the squad that lost to Iran and Turkmenistan has made six changes to their previous squad.  The home side played defensively and first opportunity is created by visitors in seventh minute when Rahim Baltayev crossed from the left and headed by Captain Arslan and collected easily by Goal Keeper Gurpreet Sandhu.

India got into trouble when Pritam Kotal received yellow card following bringing down Arslan in box and giving away penalty but it was missed by Arslan. This provides the hosts a momentum and opened scoring in 27th minute. Sandesh Jhingan header gives India a lead and it was ISL home ground of Jhingan. India was leading at the half-time.  Arslan scored and make it 1-1 just four minutes after half time. India looks tired in second half of the play. In 70th minute Substitude Atayev Serdarali made impressive run and scored to put Turkmenistan 2-1 ahead before the second half.

India lacks the creative play in this match and could not hold on to the lead made in first half. This was last match of qualifiers and India was already out of 2018 World Cup tournament.
